Cupcake and I are still adjusting to the hot South Florida summers. We both have a weakness for deliciously refreshing ice cream. However, I have been trying to come up with a healthier option to keep us cool on sunny days. These DIY yogurt pops were positively yummy and a huge hit with Miss Cupcake!
Step 1: The first thing you are going to need is popsicle sticks.
I picked up this 50 pack of craft sticks at Walmart for less than a dollar!
Step 2: Choose the yogurt you would like to use for your pops. Smaller containers work best. Also, make sure that the container is the same size from top to bottom. Some brands, such as Yoplait, have a slight cone shape which makes it nearly impossible to remove when frozen.
Step 3: Cut a small slit on the top of each container of yogurt.
Step 4: Stick the craft sticks into the slits. Now it's time to stick them in the freezer and wait...
Step 5: I let my yogurt pops freeze all night. This left them quite firm. If you prefer a more creamy texture decrease the freezing time to 2-3 hours.
Step 6: Push from the bottom and the yogurt pop will slide out. If you freeze it overnight, you may need to run the container under warm water first.
ENJOY!
So easy, genius!

ReplyDeleteNow, why didn't I think of that! Not that my kids would eat it, but I wonder if it works with jello pudding containers?
