This is the last weekend before my dear husband heads back to his teaching job. We have been trying to sneak in the last bit of family summer fun. Our original plan was to spend the day soaking up the sun at the beach, but the forecast called for thunderstorms. We decided to head down to West Palm Beach to visit the South Florida Science Center And Aquarium. It is conveniently located right next to the Palm Beach Zoo (which we visited last weekend) and a large park.
Our sweet baby Cupcake LOVED every second of the day. She particularly loved the aquariums filled with a wide variety of fish, turtles, sharks, and alligators. The moment we entered the building she exclaimed, "Big fish!" She was perfectly content and surprisingly well behaved (for a two year old) the entire afternoon.
Another feature that Cupcake loved was the fun, toddler-friendly play room. It was full of blocks, science oriented games, and a mirror maze. She played, giggled, and explored. It was a positively lovely afternoon, and many great family memories were made.
I thought it would be fun to share a few of the photos that we captured during our afternoon at the South Florida Science Center And Aquarium. I took oodles, so it was a bit hard to narrow down.
Miss Cupcake started out the day being pushed in her car by Daddy. However, this was quite short lived.
Once she saw the aquariums, she wanted to walk around and explore.
When we first entered the Aquarium, she climbed on a table in the middle
of the room and looked around with complete amazement!
It did not take Cupcake long to decided that she wanted to get a closer look.
She hopped down from the table and began walking around the room.
Seriously, could these two be any more adorable?!? I think not.
I am one lucky lady to call them mine.
I had to take several pictures of my loves inside the aquarium tunnel because they kept getting photo bombed by fish.
Cupcake was quite confused by the mirror maze, so she decided to crawl under the walls and escape.
She positively adored building things with Daddy in the play room
We had planned on having a picnic at the park, but thirty seconds after leaving the building the rain began to pour! Nevertheless, it was a fabulous day. If you ever find yourself in West Palm Beach with nothing to do,
I highly recommend visiting the South Florida Science Center And Aquarium.
