30 Day Shakeology Review

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you already know that I have been on a 30 day long journey to discover for myself if Shakeology was worth the hype.  I want to be clear that I am not a Beach Body Coach nor am I affiliated with the company.  However, I am a lover of health and fitness.  I am always search for new and tasty ways to sneak a bit of extra protein and nutrients into my daily life.  After reading the impressive ingredient list for Shakeology, I decided that I had nothing to lose by trying it for a month.

As I mentioned in the 30 Day Shakeology Challenge Introduction post, my intention was not to lose weight.  Nevertheless, within the first two weeks of using this product I had lost 5 lbs without even trying!  This was due to the fact that my cravings for snacks was completely diminished.  By the end of the third week, I noticed that the last bit of my "baby belly" had disappeared.  This was a great victory for me since obtaining my pre-pregnancy flat stomach had been a challenge since Miss Cupcake's arrival over two years ago.  While losing weight was not my ultimate goal, I was beyond excited to find that this product helped me in ways I never imagined.  Shakeology would definite be a game changer for anyone who is struggling with cravings or who is working towards weight loss.

Another benefit that I experienced during my use of Shakeology was an increase in energy.  Due to my rather hectic lifestyle of graduate school and chasing around a two year old, I often find myself feeling lethargic.  This meal replacement gave me the boost I needed to get through the day.  The increase in energy was evident by the end of the first week and continued through the month.
Simply amazing!

The cost of Shakeology is $4.00 per day.
If you think about it, that is actually a very cheap meal!  Not to mention the fact that it is packed full of protein, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, and much more.  I would much rather pay $4.00 for a healthy meal (and this will be as filling and sustaining as a  traditional meal) than $5.00+ for fast food that is doing absolutely nothing beneficial for my body.

Now to address the question that I know you all have... how does it taste?  Let's just say it is definitely approved by my rather finicky toddler.  There are several delicious flavors to choose from.  I blended it with almond milk and ice to make "milk shakes" most days.  However, there are hundreds of recipes that you can use to create everything from pumpkin spice lattes to no-bake cookies with the Shakeology powder.  This is a fabulous way to keep yourself healthy and to get your children to enjoy a nutritious "meal".  Yum!
