The pill, also known as the hormonal
birth control pill, is a very helpful and popular birth control method of
choice. According to Pregnancytips.org, the pill is so popular because
not only is it affordable, it’s very well tolerated by most women, and it works
very well when taken as prescribed. However, many women worry about their
chances of getting pregnant after the pill. Many women do not realize that
after they stop the pill, their hormones will usually bounce back very quickly.
Since the pill has to be taken every day, once you stop taking it, your body is
not getting those needed hormones. Therefore, it begins to “reset” itself and
go back to normal. It doesn’t take very long for ovulation and menstruation to
return to normal after stopping the birth control pill. Most women do not have
any problems with their ovulation cycles returning to normal after the pill,
but if it has been 9-12 months, and you haven’t gotten pregnant yet, it might
be a good time to see a doctor and make sure that there are no underlying
issues that need to be addressed.
